Change Your Transaction Value

Change your transaction value and you change your income - immediately!

This seems so simple, so obvious, it hit me like the proverbial ton-of-bricks when I first realized I was missing it.

The formula to make more money breaks down to

1. Increase the number of clients you have
2. Boost the average sale (its size) of each client
3. Increase the number of times people reorder.


Who sets the pricing in your business? YOU DO!
Who decides on the packaging in your business? YOU DO!
Who decides on what to EXPECT? YOU DO!

By telling yourself that your customer can't afford more you are moving down a path of scarcity. What you ask for you always get to keep. SO if you ask for larger money and sell a bigger ticket item you make bigger dollars. And here's the great part, it's usually for the same amount or less effort.

SIX CONCEPTS TO GET YOU INTO WEALTH MODE

For today's program I want to share with you six concepts that, when they sink in, can serve to transform your business and thereby your life.



  • Concept #1: Change your transaction value and overnight, instantly, you change your income. Instantly!

  • Concept #2: Become set up to receive BIG money.

  • Concept #3: Earn on everyone, not just your enrollee.

  • Concept #4: Pay yourself daily and/or weekly.

  • Concept #5: Always sell something that creates multiple sales for you, automatically.

  • Concept #6: Time Extension = Equity.


Just by taking a long, hard look at what you are doing in your business through the filter of these concepts, your mind will go to work generating ideas that will keep you up at night - with excitement.

Breaking them down, one by one:

Change your transaction value

Become set up to receive BIG money.

In the 1912 classic "The Master Key" Charles Hannel wrote "one cannot be, have or acquire in possessions that which he was not first aware of being".

What that translates into is - change your self-image to change the value you represent and this will change how much people pay you.

Beware of the classic low-minded thought process that "everything is too expensive" and "I won't buy-in beyond the minimal amount".

You must BE and THINK like a full-time entrepreneur - even when the hours you are investing are limited.

Think in terms of optimization - be highly leveraged to make as much as possible with the least amount of effort in as little time as possible using as much leverage by and from people as humanly possible.

Earn on everyone.

Remember, Gold Diggers will always buy picks and shovels.

In the gold rush, some hit big seams, most didn't. But the people who sold the picks and shovels didn't care who was on which end of the spectrum.

It's simple. Who do you want to be - the Landlord or the Deli-man. The landlord owns lots of store fronts and walks around collecting monthly rent from his people. Regardless of whether they sold anything or not.

Do you think - how many $4.95 sandwiches do I need to hustle to make the rent. Or do you think - hey, I'll earn on the store whether it sells any sandwiches or not.

Here's a suggestion. Become a servant to an industry. THe network marketing industry, for example. Because leads and training are the picks and shovels any successful marketer / gold miner must have.

Pay yourself daily and/or weekly.

Are you in control of your income?

Or are you waiting for someone else to create sales pieces for you? Are you waiting for other people to recruit others? Are you in a deadly waiting game?

Be honest with yourself.

Why is this? Probably because you are working with too few a number. You cannot "love" people into action. You can control your process. How many ads you place. HOw many postcards you mail.

You control your income when you control your exposure.

The Big Dogs are where they are because they REFUSED to wait for OTHER people.

Always sell something that creates multiple sales for you, automatically.

The concept here is that Sale #1 must breed Sale #2 and Sale#3.

Again, look at the Big Dogs!

How was Elvis worth more after he died than he was when he was alive?

Or when you go to a concert, say by Pink Floyd, Springsteen or Kid Rock. Did you only buy the ticket, or did you buy the T-shirt - which you wear proudly and give free advertising to the artist you love. Did you sign up for the fan-based website, to get advanced notice on future concerts, future events?

The rich get richer because they earn on extended merchandise that reflects what the original thing you bought was.

Look for ways to earn multiple times, in multiple ways, on multiple products, from the same people.

Finally,

Time Extension = Equity.

This is based on the truth that

"The longer a person holds or consumes a portion of whatever you sell, the more likely they are to add their own imagination to ownership and the more likely they are to come back and buy to extend the relationship"

Why do book stores let you sit and read the book for free?

Why were all hit records first 'free' on the radio?

Why did record companies come up with 'Greatest Hits' compilations that always added just one more previously unreleased track to 'complete your collection'?

Why are you being offered to 'inspect' other samples monthly - no purchase necessary?

CONTINUITY = EQUITY!


Implementation of any one of these concepts we have spoken of today will change your income. The more you become the more you will become.

THE BUSINESS OF NETWORK MARKETING

For today's program, since it is a Mindset Monday segment, I would like to talk to what I perceive as some of the misconceptions that people have who are either considering a career in the industry or who have just gotten into it.

Now why do people get into the industry.

Perhaps they feel trapped in their current financial or job situation.

Perhaps they just want a way to establish long-term financial security for themselves and their family.

Whatever their reason, the most common misconception that we are coming across is that success will be instant. That just by connecting with volumes of people on the internet, or by getting thousands of Twitter followers that somehow, as if by magic, these will instantly become long-term business partners who love whatever product or service you are offering - so much that they will be repeat buyers, forever. So you can, with no effort or commitment on your part, sail off into the sunset and live happily ever after - without a financial care in the world.

Let me just ask you - does this pass the "smell test". In the bottom of your gut, in your heart of hearts, aren't you at least suspicious?

Remember, if money grew on trees it would have the value of leaves. And come fall I can't even give mine away.

So let me take away the hype, strip back some of the veneer and be really clear.

You need to approach any network marketing opportunity clear in the understanding that you are buying a business! It will take time to grow. You will need to develop skills you don't necessarily have from the get go. You will need to show up for work on a regular basis, or you won't get paid. There is no "free lunch" and if you have a "something for nothing" mindset you will be taken for a ride.

My heart bleeds for people who become fodder for the unscrupulous.

Now, before anyone takes this as being a shot at the Network Marketing Industry, let me make this also quite clear - I love this industry.

It has provided a vehicle for so many with the right attitude to distribute great products and provide service and be compensated not for the title they hold - which is the model of regular employment - but for the results their business produces.

Which is another mindset threshold that people entering the industry often have to cross. You will not be paid just for showing up. You will be paid on results. This is why the development of appropriate skills is so critical.

Let me ask again, in anything you have done in your life have you ever walked in and been able to do everything needed, perfectly, from the day you started? Of course not! It takes most of us a year or two to learn to walk safely.

When I hear "this business doesn't work" I cringe. The statistics alone belie this statement.

In 2006, as estimated by the Direct Sales Association, the industry produced $30 billion is sales in the US alone. $100 billion world-wide. Though this is just a fraction of all retail it certainly is not an indication of a business model that won't work.

So what is required for success?

Let's look at some more statistics:

  • 60% of the sales happen directly - person to person

  • 75% of those actively involved in the business are at least 35 years of age and are married

  • 90% work the business part-time (defined as 30 hours or less)



What do these figures say to me?

One - that success is based on relationships. Relationships that last are built on integrity and a good end-product. Not on taking advantage of people for a 'quick-buck'.

Two - that life experience and relationship experience is a desirable attribute.

Three - that the business is DESIGNED to be worked part-time and provide complementary income - rather than replacement income.

As a business model Network Marketing compares favorably to other income producing activities, such as:

Semi-skilled employment where you are paid for your time but have limited options for long-term success

A professional career where you can earn good money - lawyers, doctors etc. - but where you have limited control over your long-term financial prospects. You can't work more hours and make more money.

Having and Executive position in a company. OK, but how limited are these positions? Is not a history of exceptional performance required? How long is the life-span of a senior executive?

Starting your own business from scratch. What does that really take in terms of a time and money investment? What revenues will it take before you make a profit in excess of overheads? How long will it take to break-even?

Buying into a franchise. This at least reduces the start-up risk of the business by buying into a profitable model, in return for reducing YOUR profitability margins.

Freelancing. This is most similar to Network Marketing in that most people are working from home, setting their own hours and selling special skills. However, the question becomes, what do you do when you can't work? YOU, and you alone, ARE THE BUSINESS.

SO:

when you treat your network marketing business with the respect it deserves

when you know that although you set your own hours you still have to show up

when you know that you need a market for your product or service and YOU will need buyers

when you know you will need, in order to achieve a dependable residual income, to be able to find, recruit and train an additional work-force - which will be, by the way, an army of volunteers,

when you know that you will have to duplicate your efforts and intentions into the hearts and minds of others

when you know YOU are in control of your message AND your cash flow


THEN

you will have the mindset to acquire the skills and develop a business that rewards people for their labors in a way few others do

with an income that doesn't stop on the days when you cannot work.


Obtain the skills, apply them, teach them, and teach others to do the same.

That may not sound as sexy as the get rich quick messages that are out there. But my job today was to give you my perspective

Business Growth Friday - Comparing Funding Strategies

COMPARING FUNDING STRATEGIES?

In our Business Growth Friday segments we have been considering two of the critical components for accelerating your business' growth - cash flow and information flow.

This week I came across a summary of a 2004 Wall Street Journal article that indicated that 62% of small business owners had cited managing cash flow as a top priority for them in order to take advantage of growth opportunities.

Of these 35% said that getting their customers to pay is their main concern, with a detailed breakdown of their concerns being:


  • 35% - Accounts Receivable

  • 6% - Meeting Payroll

  • 11% - Tracking cashflow

  • 22% - Having cash available to win new business

  • 28% - Paying their bills on time.



As a result of these concerns, when asked what they would do


  • 30% responded that they would delay purchases

  • 24% were looking to get a line of credit

  • 18% were looking to use their own credit card

  • 10% were looking for short-term loans, and

  • 6% were looking to lease instead of buy new equipment.



In short, growth delaying, risk increasing solutions.

I grant you that these numbers may be somewhat dated. While I do not have available to me the updates for 2008 - I would have to hypothesise that in today's risk-averse, credit crunch environment the situation has probbably gotten worse rather than better.

And this for small business - the life blood of our economy!

So for today's segment I thought I would consider and compare various funding strategies according to criteria that we have found pertinent to the business owner considering his financing options.

Consider first the traditional sources of funds - the places where businesses in need of cash most commonly turn.

Loans - The most commonly considered source of business capital is a bank loan.

The problem here is that most banks want to see at least two years of profitable tax returns before lending business money. Since it usually takes two to five years to see a profit this effectively shuts the door on new businesses for at least two years and more usually four.

By strange co-incidence this is also the time when businesses see their greatest growth.

Venture Capital - the next most common approach that is taken traditionally is to look for venture capital.

This essentially means selling a piece of your business in exchange for working capital - either through taking on a "silent" partner, taking on an active partner through any of the investor networks - through to going public and raising capital by selling stock.

So, in addition to the incurring of significant legal expenses - depending on the complexity - you are beginning to give up a piece of control of your business. The more successful you are the longer the interest someone will have in retaining their piece of control.

Also you will be incurring on-going expenses for external auditing and additional reporting requirements. All this takes time to acquire and get set up.

Grants and Gifts - our third source.

There are programs out there and I encourage business owners to use them where possible. Googling SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) and STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer), for example, will take you to information on just a couple of the Federal R&D programs designed to increase private sector commercialization of technology.

However, you should be aware that the money can be difficult to get. THe grant proposals have to adhere to strict guidelines and it will take time, usually 6 to 12 months, for the funds to be released.

There are grants available from Private and Public Corporations. These require research and it might be worth your while to acquire the services of a business that specialises in this area to understand the situation more fully.

Of course, a gift is a gift and should be accepted gratefully where no strings are attached.

Asset-based lending.

Our final class of traditional lending is that of asset-based lending,most commonly lending against:


  • Land and Buildings - a percentage of the appraised value of the property (so that will have been going down recently)

  • Inventory or Finished Goods - typically bringing up to 50% of the wholesale value

  • Raw Materials - possibly bringing in ten cents of the dollar, and

  • Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment - which realistically has little value unless you have very large pieces of equipment that are owned free-and-clear.

The most common of these being Factoring (a.k.a. Accounts Receivable Financing) and Purchase Order Funding.

The advantages of these being:

  • they are debt-free - they are not a loan

  • they grow as your business grows - so are virtually unlimited in scope, and

  • they are based on the credit-worthiness of the businesses you are doing business with.



So they are particularly useful for young, growing businesses - both from the availability of cash they provide as well as the security of knowing you are doing business with creditworthy businesses.

So, in conclusion, by considering each of the strategies mentioned



  • Equipment Leasing

  • Going Public

  • Obtaining Venture Capital

  • Obtaining Bank Loans

  • Taking on Private Investors

  • Participating in a Government Program

  • Alternative Financing via Factoring or Purchase Order Funding




and looking at them in regard to features such as



  • Simplicity of the Application Process

  • Time taken to fund

  • Approval based on your creditworthiness

  • Funding tied to sales

  • Having to give up equity

  • Having to give up control

  • Whether the amount available to you is limited by the value of your Fixed Assets

  • What the lender's requirement is of your profitability

  • What type of on-going monitoring of your operations you can expect, and

  • What impact it will have on your business overheads (will they increase or will they decrease?)


you will obtain a better picture and make your well-informed decision for your business' circumstances.

Spirituality Sunday - Anam Cara - Soul Friend

As Mary took on the Spirit of other troubadors whose music contributed to her social consciousness, her Spirit will live on in the candles she and her brothers-in-arms, Peter and Paul, lit in the hearts of others.

Thank You to the country of Ireland, the country of Scotland and the county of Yorkshire. Their beautiful ruggedness has helped create a people, a culture of wisdom that transcends time. Though it is a stretch sometimes to call the bagpipes "sweet soul music" in its best essence there is no doubt in my mind that it is the music of the soul.

ANAM CARA - SOUL FRIEND

While I will be downloading the podcast from Speaking Of Faith - as a message to listen to over and over - let me just share some of his wisdom.

You should always keep something beautiful in your mind

Isn't that the truth. When the Moody Blues sang "it is all around if we could but perceive" on "In Search of the Lost Chord" they encouraged us to search for a higher perception, an awareness of beauty.

When my mother taught me the power of "making memories" she was giving me the gift of actively looking for beauty and storing it in my mind for future reference. Beauty is truly all around us, when we open our minds to perceive it. Let's just take John's next step. Capture it in our minds. For spiritual nourishment when we need sustenance.

The gifts we have been given are not ours alone. The were meant to be shared with the community.

As it is written "to whom much is given, from him (her) much is expected".

We come into the physical world naked and alone and when we leave it, it is also a journey we take alone.

With that truth in mind, is not everything that we are and have in some way, shape or form, a gift. Somebody somewhere, or something, made whatever you have available to you.

Who is your community? Your family? Your friends? Your Church? Your Work Colleagues? Your twitter following? Your Facebook friends? It is for you to decide. But always remember, it is in giving that we truly receive.

Your identity is not the same as your biography

So many CVs, so many resumes, so little time!

Do we take the time any more to learn more about WHO people are? Not just ask ourselves the question "what can he (or she) do for me?"

Through all the failures I have had, in all the places where my resume disqualifies me from being an instant success - to be used by someone else as they see fit - I know inside of me there is a me that is a distilled essence. I know that is also true for you.

When I stand in front of Saint Peter and he looks into the Book Of Life for the life of Peter Pocklington, I trust he will know more than the results, more than just the CV, more than just the resume. I hope he will see the ME and make his judgment with wisdom and compassion.

Are you afraid of your limitations, or are you afraid of the infinite within you?

In his book "Think And Grow Rich", Napoleon Hill outlines the six basic fears. We all have them. God knows we all have them. Literally. GOD KNOWS!

Yet another basic truth is that God made us. And the way I look at it "GOD DIDN'T MAKE NO DUDS"!

So ask yourself - instead of telling yourself what you can't do, what if I can do? On the Million Mind March we have a mantra - "you don't have to get it right, you just have to get it going". The physical world teaches us that a body in motion stays in motion until acted upon by an equal and opposite force. So what if the force of God is inside us? Because I believe it is. THE infinite is within us. Yes, John, I am afraid. But I do thank God for the 23rd psalm.

Create a space where your children can unfold. Safely.

Now there's a corker! In the name of safety are we imprisoning our children?

One of the greatest blessings I have been granted in my life has been watching my grand-daughter evolve. Without my own fears of "am I doing the right thing for my child?".

To quote my mother again - she once shared with me a concept - that we come into the world with infinite wisdom, infinite intelligence - and slowly lose it as we become molded by our physical constraints, our environmental constraints, our emotional constraints.

I encourage us all to watch children at play when they structure their own environment. I never cease to be amazed by their problem solving skills, their capacity to forgive, their natural ability. They learn to communicate in a completely foreign language is less than two years. Try that Mr. PhD in Mathematics. Try that Mr Certified Systems Engineer.

Watch a baby. Defenseless little creature. No so-called language skills. Yet it can dominate the space it occupies - DOMINATE IT!

Do you know when it is hungry? Who told you?

Do you know when it is tired? Who told you?

Do you know when it is pleased with you? Who told you?

Do you know when it is displeased with you? Who told you?

When was the last time you had a great conversation, in which you heard yourself say things you never knew you knew?

In a round-about way we have come full circle to the last of the thought-provoking ideas John O'Donahue lead me to today.

Did that thought hit me like the proverbial "ton of bricks"?

In a 140 character world, in an email world we can connect with so many. Yet with how many do we converse?

What does it take to have the conversations that bring out things from inside of you that you never knew you knew?

If, as it is said, the art of conversation is dead - may I pray that there will be a resurrection?

This is definitely one of the gauntlets that John O'Donahue threw at my feet. Am I able to meet his challenge? Can I be the kind of person who helps people say things they never knew they knew? Who do I know who is that kind of person?

Is this a question in search of an answer? Or is it an answer in search of a question?

Either way, I know I was given a gift today. That by capturing the wisdom of John O'Donahue before he departed this existence at the early age of fifty-two, Speaking Of Faith was able to bless my life this morning.

Spirituality Sunday - Nine Techniques To Restore One To The Beauty Way

Thank you to the people of the Pocono Mountain region of Pennsylvania, who accepted my wife and I so graciously as we traveled through their region recently. Oh boy is it a good thing to not be in touch via the internet, to not be in touch via cell phone. Instead to be in touch with a much greater force. The spiritual force. The force of the mountains. The force of the streams. The force of the woods. The force of the valleys. Thank you to the people who live there and gave of their internal beauty as a complement to their surroundings.

NINE TECHNIQUES TO RESTORE ONE TO THE BEAUTY WAY


This was from a book that I picked up as I was visiting the Museum Of The Lenape Indian. Wisdom that comes from a different culture, a different time. But still, as all wisdom, is so relevant today.

What are the nine techniques?

First: Dedicate your sleep to gain knowledge. Dreams can reveal a great deal about what troubles you.

Second: Close your eyes and you see better and hear better.

Third: Ceremonies can remove obstructions. And ceremonies do not have to be elaborate. Something as simple as taking time each morning to feel the dawn.

Fourth: Rise before sunrise and bathe in the coolness. It will help wash badness away and you'll be able to handle any situation.

Fifth: Smile about the problems you receive, they build muscle. Serendipity is around every corner and life detour.

Sixth: What's important is not what happened but to rebuild.

Seventh: Life is great. Life is good, especially when you share it with someone.

Eighth: Teach all the time and learn all the time.

Ninth: The final technique to restore one to the beauty way is prayer. When you pray long enough you will find short cuts to the best path to take.

So let's think about each of these some more:

1. Dedicate your sleep to gain knowledge.


Dreams can reveal a great deal about what troubles you. Two of the most acknowledged self-help books are "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill and "The Power Of The Subconscious Mind" by Dr. Joseph Murphy. A less often quoted but, I have found, equally powerful book is by Florence Shinn "The Game Of Life And How To Play It". All of these pay great attention to our self-talk and what is going on in our minds while we sleep.

How often have you gone to bed with a problem on your mind and woken up with a potential way forward, a potential solution?

Do you pray before sleeping? Think about the wisdom of the ancients.

2. Close your eyes and you see better and hear better


Stand beside the ocean and close your eyes. Instead of your senses taking in the visuals and being directed to them, listen. There is so much to hear when you are being still.

When I walk in the woods on a path by a stream I close my eyes. I can hear the water talking. It tells me whether the stream is full of water from the rains of yesterday or waiting for water from the rains of tomorrow.

But using the closing of your eyes to see better. I thought - come on!

Until I thought of the power of visualization. What you think about you bring about. Can it be that by closing my eyes I can see the future? Think about it.

3. Ceremonies can remove obstructions

Ceremonies do not have to be elaborate. Something as simple as taking time each morning to feel the dawn.

Think about ceremonies. There is a song that goes "we all need somebody to lean on". So it is with the familiar. Is a ceremony not something that is repeated so many times over that it becomes familiar. It becomes a rock.

What were your ceremonies growing up?

The family meal?

The coaches pep-talk before a sports event?

The kneeling down to pray before sleep?

What are your ceremonies now?

4. Rise before sunrise and bathe in the coolness


It will help wash badness away and you'll be able to handle any situation.

Another song - I personally love the Emmylou Harris version, she has the voice of an angel - speaks to "The darkest hour is just before dawn". What do I hear so often today? "I don't have time". When did I find time? At the front end of the day.

5. Smile about the problems you receive, they build muscle

Serendipity is around every corner and life detour.

Think about this. Did you know how to walk the day you were born? But when it became a means to an end you solved the problem, rose to your full height, fell forward a few times and suddenly the problem was there no longer.

As soon as you view problems as a blessing the solutions will start to appear. Our Native American forebears knew this!

6. What's important is not what happened but to rebuild


What has happened is in the past. We cannot ever go back and change it. It is what it is.

So why not let go. Learn. Re-group if necessary. And move forward.

The future is what we make of today - not how we live in yesterday.

7. Life is great

Life is good, especially when you share it with someone.

OK! What are the choices?

8. Teach all the time and learn all the time


The phrase "you cannot lead where you will not go - you cannot teach what you do not know" springs to my mind.

By focusing on getting the ability to teach we focus on gaining an understanding AND an ability to communicate. It demands of us a desire for learning.

Another song that springs to mind is "Teach Your Children Well" by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Or how about "What Did You Learn In School Today" by Pete Seeger or Tom Paxton.

9. Prayer


The final technique to restore one to the beauty way is prayer. When you pray long enough you will find short cuts to the best path to take.

IS YOUR WEB SITE ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS?


In our July 31st program - "Take Your Web Page From Whoa! To Wow!" we provided 7 tips that will significantly enhance your web presence's appeal to the customer. Sort of like walking into a store and being greeted by someone who has a heartfelt smile and is truly on a mission to help you get what you need - as opposed to what they want you to buy. Remember always - it's not about you and who you are, it's about them and how you can benefit them.

So let's think first about what you might be wanting your website to ask your customer. If you ask the right questions you'll get the answer you want most - YES, I want to do business with you.

You have to engage your visitor from the moment they arrive at your home page - or any page that you or Google has directed them to. How do you do that? By asking questions.

The best questions follow three basic rules:

1: They spell out a problem that your ideal client will have faced (for which you have an answer, of course)
2: They will elicit a "YES" answer from your ideal client
3: They use the words "you" and "your"

For example
, someone providing coaching services to other consultants might ask "are you uncomfortable selling your services?" Or "do you love what you do but have a hard time describing the benefits?".

A home-business mentorship site might ask "are you getting the support you need from your mentor?" Or "Have you ever wished your cold leads were hot prospects?"

A business financing site might ask "is your client's payment schedule affecting your cash flow?"

So - how do you come up with your own questions?

* Think like your ideal client, and

* Ask yourself what you - as your ideal client - are probably struggling with, or thinking a lot about, right now!

When you have an idea of these just think of the phrases "If you are ... " or "Are you ..." and they will jump start the identification of your questioning questions.

YOUR WEB PAGE COPY

Now let's consider your web page copy. Consider the following six step process

1. Craft your attention-getting headline.
2. Briefly describe the problem.
3. Give a solution.
4. Introduce how your product or service can help.
5. Establish credibility.
6. Provide a clear call to action.

For the attention-getting headline we suggest a problem-oriented strategy such as

Executives: Uncover the strongest resource you have - currently hiding in your balance sheet

Why is this effective? It names your audience and hints that the resource they need to access is already theirs.

Regarding the description of the problem:

This is important because symptoms sell. Just go to your local drugstore's colds and flu aisle and see the medications for a condition that has no cure.

In no more than a couple of sentences you can elicit the "yes - that's me" response. You can show that you understand their situation. If you can't - then why should they do business with you?.

Then - give a solution. However, don't toot your own horn. Resist all temptation to. Give an example of how the problem is being solved using the same type of service or product you are making available to them.

Now you can simply introduce you and your company. This should be short and sweet. Something as simple as "That's where we come in".

Here's where you can establish your credibility - again in a couple of sentences.

To use an example from our Real Estate Business - "We've partnered with the industry's top marketers of lot and home packages - who will put their specialized digital convergence marketing techniques to work for you - quickly getting you the full price you are asking for." By the way, it's better to talk about results here than to talk about how great you think you are.

Finally, have a clear call to action. YOU MUST HAVE ONE.

How do you decide what? Think about it. Your goal is to make the action virtually risk free to them - in terms of time or in terms of money - AND by offering something of value.

Oh, and don't worry about whether you got your offer "right" the first time. It's the internet. Whatever you decide you can change your mind!

So there we have it. Just follow these few simple steps and take the focus off you and put it where it belongs - on the person who is your ideal client and with whom your web presence is communicating.

Wellness Wednesday - Our Interconnected Internals

ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

On this day of alignment - the ninth day of the ninth month of the ninth year of the century - a thank you to chiropractors everywhere.

For me especially a thank you to Dr. Chris Grenshaw, the chiropractor who literally saved my life when I was six months old and not breathing.

Thank you to my current chiropractor, Dr. Andrew Gottlieb of Eagle Chiropractic in Lionville, Pennsylvania - who, together with his wife Dr. Cynthia Glendenning, continuously further my own wellness education.

OUR INTERCONNECTED INTERNALS

Do you remember the song about the interconnectedness of the skeletal structure?
From the head bone connected to the neck bone, to the ankle bone connected to the foot bone.... So it is with your internal body systems.

There are no fences in your body.
Each organ system is interconnected by way of your blood. Let's consider the colon, the small intestine, the liver, the lymphatic system and the circulatory system. Did you realize that the health of your circulatory system can be affected by the health of your colon and small intestine? Because by way of the blood each system affects the other. The lymphatic system is part of your immune system and that can be affected by toxic, dirty blood. We should learn more about how these systems are inter-connected and how important it is to keep them cleansed.

So let's take a journey together, starting at the mouth and going all the way to the other end - the terminus of the digestive system. If you could straighten out your digestive system and shine a light down your mouth the light would shine out of your "other end". So a lot of things need to happen inside the digestive tract.

Firstly, we need to chew our food!
Not take a few bites while driving along to work, school or play and then swallow. Your grandmother was right - CHEW YOUR FOOD! Because your saliva is going straight to work to break down your food to assist absorption.

Once you swallow the food goes down the esophageal tract to your stomach - which is a majorly acidic organ charged with liquefying the food you ate.
It has hydrochloric acid available - more when you are younger, by the way, which may account partially for an increase in digestive problems for people over 40.

The stomach acid works on the food and liquefies it is a process that can take up to four hours. It turns the food into a liquid state that is isotonic - called "chyme" with a pH level of 2.5. When that state is reached the pyloric valve opens up to let the chyme into your small intestine.

The small intestine performs a vital function in regard to your health.
In its 21' length and 1 1/2" diameter are so-called VILLI and MICROVILLI. As the chyme swims in and out of these villi the nutrients in the chyme - the vitamins etc. - are absorbed into the blood system.

Unfortunately, we have a tendency here to be white flour addicts.
Now white flour and water make PASTE (think back to your elementary school days!).

Now look at this from the perspective of the VILLI. When these are free-flowing they have about 200 square metres of surface area working to extract nutrition. But when you are "eating paste" all day they get stuck together, reducing the effective absorption area.

The phrase "you are what you eat" would more accurately be "you are what you absorb"! If you eat poorly all day and then eat nutritiously in the evening you may not be absorbing all the nutrition you think you are.

Now to the last stage of your digestion - the large intestine and the colon.
Unused food is passed into the colon - which is 5' long and 2 1/2" in diameter. Its job is to eliminate unused food out of the body. It should eliminate waste about two to three times a day. If not the unused food is lying in the 98 degree temperature of our body.

How long do you think it takes for food to begin to rot in these conditions? 24 hours? 48 hours? If this is not happening it will cause problems - through a process called auto-intoxication - the toxic chemicals produced by the colon bacteria and the continuous diffusion of these into the colon wall and ultimately the blood stream. So it causes more problems than just things as divericulitis - it can also affect the heart.

Our love of white flour and toxic food causes our colon to become infected and fill up with old fecal matter that lines the wall of the colon. [I was surprised to hear that when John Wayne died they took over 25 pounds of fecal matter out in his autopsy]

Now this auto-intoxication has more side effects. The blood takes it to the liver - and after years of detoxification our livers can become impaired. Think about the drug advertisements you see - how many of them note you need to be on the look-out for liver problems? Why? Because the liver's job is to filter out anything that is foreign to the body. So auto-intoxication will definitely affect the liver.

If the liver is impaired the next system affected is the lymphatic system.
The lymphatic system runs parallel to the circulatory system, but it operates through movement. Which is another reason why we should add a lot of movement into our lives - for a health lymphatic system.

The lymphatic system has two main functions:

Firstly, to protect us from virus infections, bacteria, fungi etc., and

Secondly, to clean up inter-cellular waste products.

When functioning properly the waste is placed into the colon trapped in mucus and expelled from the body. So when your colon and your liver is not functioning properly this waste is dumped elsewhere - in your sinus or in your lungs. So colon cleansing and liver detoxification can help clear up chronic sinus problems. WHO'DA THUNK IT!

Now consider the circulatory system. This is the transport system for your blood. It consists of your heart, arteries and veins. Most people who have problems with high blood pressure, high cholesterol and circulatory disorders have most likely had a problem with digestion, elimination and auto-intoxication.

It is when all your body systems are working properly that you achieve optimal health. When you are better detectives, when you understand the relationships, when you don't wait too long, you won't have to resort to medications and surgery! When we compromise any of our body systems we don't function properly, we don't feel well and we don't achieve the optimal health we deserve.

August Wisdom And Understanding - A Thank You

Thank You for all of your wisdom that you have shared with me last month

Whether consciously or subconsciously you have enriched my life.

The luminescent Lucy DelSarto turned me on the the book "The Slight Edge" by Jeff Olsen. It's truly easy to do and easy to not do. It's the day-to-day things we pay attention to that compound over time.
